From the very outset the role of bureaucracy is questionable and it is considered an immense hurdle to achieve the goals for which Pakistan was created.
Everyone is furious and complaining about their acts, taking law into hands, huge corruption, dealings and the way they behave towards the citizens of Pakistan.
To reconstruct Pakistan, the primary responsibility is to restructure the bureaucracy, as it is the machine to maintain law and order and enforce public policies.
The legacy that was left behind by the draconian British rulers had not changed yet. And now it is indispensable to reform it expeditiously.
More importantly, during their training sessions it is requisite to include professional ethics and must realize that they are the servants of the people of Pakistan not the lords. Moreover, curb their delegated powers and privileges.
The recent blatant attack on the learned member of the Peshawar High Court Bar association Syed Ghufranullah Advocate of Supreme Court, torturing and dragging him to a police van at a filling station by the additional assistant commissioner namely Aftab Ahmad alias Babu with his two guards and then lodging FIR against the learned member is condemnable.
No one is above the law and nobody has the right to misuse his authority, power to disturb peace and tranquility, as the lawyers community are on strike till the arrest of the additional assistant commissioner.
As every person is conscious of the pendency of proceedings before the courts and it will further aggravate the situation.
Being a lawyer, I pay tribute to the unity of the lawyers community and especially the additional session judge, who allowed the petition under 22-A of code of criminal procedure and directed the concerned SHO to lodged an FIR against the accused additional assistant commissioner.
Now he had gone into hiding, intentionally avoiding his lawful arrest and not surrendering before the police or court of law.
We the lawyers community are strongly demanding that the government must take immediate disciplinary actions against absconder additional assistant commissioner Aftab Ahmad, arrest him and produce him before the court. As our strike will continue till further orders of District Bar Association Peshawar and Peshawar High Court Bar Association as per their schedule.
